Girls golf: Raptors finish sixth in pair of Suburban East Conference matches

The East Ridge girls golf team took sixth place in an 18-hole Suburban East Conference mach at the White Bear Yacht Club on Monday, May 9, before placing sixth in a nine-hole SEC match at River Oaks Golf Course on Thursday, May 12.

The East Ridge girls golf team took sixth place in an 18-hole Suburban East Conference mach at the White Bear Yacht Club on Monday, May 9, before placing sixth in a nine-hole SEC match at River Oaks Golf Course on Thursday, May 12. East Ridge shot a 185 in a nine-hole match at River Oaks and a 405 at the White Bear Yacht Club in an 18-hole mid-conference tournament. Park registered its first qualifying score in conference play this year, turning in a 226 at its home meet, however, the Wolfpack sent only two golfers to White Bear Lake and finished with an incomplete.

Stillwater won both matches with scores of 350 and 165, respectively. Cretin-Derham Hall was second at both matches with scores of 352 and 168, respectively.

At River Oaks, Molly Richardson carded the Raptors’ top score with a 42. Celina Spencer wasn’t far behind with a 46, followed by Ashley Lehner with a 49 and Andriel Aimua with a 49. Park’s scores were not made available.

At the White Bear Yacht Club, Richardson scored a 94 to lead the way for the Raptors. Aimua carded a 101, Spencer shot a 102 and Lyndsey Garaghty carded a 108 to round out the team’s top four. For Park, Anna Keys shot a 102 and Joelene Dittman carded a 123 as the Wolfpack’s lone representatives in the tournament.

After the conference matches, East Ridge competed in the Providence Academy Invitational at Fox Hollow Golf Course on May 14, taking third place as a team with a 192. Richardson shot a 44 in the nine-hole match, taking eighth place overall individually.

Taylor Anderson had the Raptors’ second-best score in the tournament with a 47, followed by Lehner with a 49 and Aimua with a 52.

East Ridge and Park competed in an SEC match at Hastings Country Club on Monday, May 16, after the Bulletin went to press. Next, the teams will compete in a conference match at Prestwick on Thursday, May 19.
