BB gun used in vandlism of LeDuc mansion in Hastings

A BB gun was used to shoot out a window at the mansion. The manager estimated that the cost to replace the windows would exceed $1,000 because of the home’s historic nature and the original glass used.

The Hastings Police Department is investigating damage done to the LeDuc Historic Estate at 1629 Vermillion Street in Hastings.

The site manager at the LeDuc reported that between April 18 and April 25, someone had shot out a window of the mansion with a BB gun.

A BB traveled through an outer window and hit an inner window, leaving a crack. The crack was less than an inch in size.

The BB was not recovered at the scene.

The manager estimated that the cost to replace the windows would exceed $1,000 because of the home’s historic nature and the original glass used.

The broken windows are on the south side of the mansion, visible from 17th Street. The windows face the Hastings Co-op Creamery and Dairy Store.

There are no suspects in the case. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the department by calling 651-480-2300.
