Grey Cloud Island Township officials said this week that it appears Mississippi River flooding will not top County Road 75 that links the township with the mainland in St. Paul Park.
"We're not out of the woods yet,” said Town Board Chair Dick Adams during the board meeting.
“It's not the woods that concern me,” said Dave Jasper, planning commission member.
Adams said that Washington County officials would have helped the township if 150 of its residents had been marooned by flood water.
The township also received a letter from St. Paul Park Police Chief Mike Monahan stating that the city would have provided police service to marooned residents.
“We know what we can do and what we can't,” Adams said, “and that we can get help from St. Paul Park.”
