Recent police reports.

Theft

A Cottage Grove woman living in the 9700 block of 85th Street reported March 11 that someone entered her unlocked vehicle parked at the residences. CDs and the vehicle title were reported stolen.

Gas Plus, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a $50 gas drive-off March 11.

A Cottage Grove resident living in the 9800 block of 85th Street reported March 11 that someone entered unlocked vehicles parked at the residence. An insurance card and receipts for license tabs were reported stolen.

Menards, 9000 E. Point Douglas Road, reported March 12 that a suspect left the store after stealing an electronic dog collar valued at $159. Police are investigating.

A 23-year-old Newport man and a 21-year-old Maplewood man were cited for misdemeanor theft after BP gas station, 8490 E. Point Douglas Road, reported a $30 gas drive-off March 13.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $20 gas drive-off March 14.

A Cottage Grove man reported March 14 that an all-terrain vehicle was stolen while it was parked outside a garage at his residence in the 8200 block of Innsdale Avenue. The ATV, which was locked, was valued at $4,500.

A Cottage Grove resident reported March 14 that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 9700 block of 84th Street and stole an iPod transmitter valued at $100.

Domestic

Jonathan A. Baron, 33, Cottage Grove, was arrested March 16 on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault after a 26-year-old woman told police she was hit by a door that Baron had kicked in, and then he allegedly grabbed her around her neck, according to the report. The incident happened at a residence in the 7600 block of Hinton Avenue. Braon was booked into Washington County Jail.

Cory F. Schultz, 24, Cottage Grove, was arrested March 16 on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault. According to police, a 13-year-old female told authorities that Schultz punched her at a residence in the 7800 block of Hemingway Avenue.

A Cottage Grove man was arrested after a March 13 domestic incident. Police arrested Remi Schilling, 29, on suspicion of fifth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed and pushed a 27-year-old Cottage Grove woman known to him at a home in the 6900 block of 99th Street, according to the report. Schilling was booked in Washington County Jail.

Firearms citation

Two 14-year-old males from Cottage Grove were cited for possessing a firearm within city limits, a city ordinance, after police were called March 14 on a report of suspicious activity on 80th Street west of Joliet Avenue. The caller reported seeing kids dressed in black at about 9:30 p.m. The teens were carrying pellet guns. They were referred to the Youth Service Bureau.

Property damage

A 36-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for fourth-degree drunken driving March 10 after a resident in the 8600 block of Hillside Trail reported that a vehicle struck a mailbox and stopped in the front yard. The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m.

Fraud

A Cottage Grove woman reported March 11 that someone used her check card, amassing $522 in fraudulent transactions and fees.

Fire

Police responded to a report of a Dumpster fire shortly after 8 p.m. March 11 at Hearthside Park. An officer extinguished the fire with snow. No suspects.

Suspicious situation

Office Max, 9010 Jamaica Ave., reported suspicious behavior by customers March 12. Two men entered the store to make a purchase and one was carrying a pistol. Police informed the store it is legal too carry a handgun.

Burglary

A Cottage Grove man reported March 13 that someone entered the garage of his residence in the 7300 block of Jordon Avenue and stole a cordless drill valued at $220. Entry gained through an unlocked service door. There is a suspect and police are investigating.

Identity theft

A Cottage Grove man reported March 14 that someone made charges on his credit cards, including on two accounts he did not open but were in his name.

Burning

A homeowner in the 11000 block of Upper 74th Street was cited for a burning violation March 15 after police were called to the residence because garbage was being burned.

Drugs

A 16-year-old Cottage Grove male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a police officer on routine patrol saw an occupied vehicle parked in a church parking lot on Hillside Trail at about 12:30 a.m. March 16.
