State swimming & diving meet: Raptors' Karrow leads diving competition

With three dives remaining, East Ridge sophomore Jenna Karrow is in first place in the Class AA state diving championships with a 3.35 point lead after the preliminary and semifinal rounds on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

With three dives remaining, East Ridge sophomore Jenna Karrow is in first place in the Class AA state diving championships with a 3.35 point lead after the preliminary and semifinal rounds on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Heading into the finals on Saturday, Sept. 20, Karrow has a score of 307.15 and leads Forest Lake junior Jessica Ramberg, who is in second place with a score of 303.80.

Woodbury junior Emily Bonfig is in third place with 283.75 points and Woodbury senior Erin Kohlbeck is in fourth place with a score of 282.50.

Additionally, East Ridge senior Bailee Meyer reached the finals and is currently in 16th place with 242.35 points.

At the state meet, the top eight finishers in each event garner All-State honors.

Last week, Karrow was the Section 3AA champion, scoring a 425.10 to earn the Section 3AA meet. At sections, Kohlbeck took second place with 401.95 points, Bonfig took third place with 390.75 and Meyer finished in fourth place with a 363.35 score.

At last year’s Class AA state meet Kohlbeck took second place and Bonfig was sixth place, while Karrow finished second overall in the Class A state meet and Meyer earned fifth place.
