After opening last season with five-straight losses, the New Life Academy boys soccer team kicked off 2010 with a trio of victories before finally succumbing in its third game of its autumn campaign last week.
The Eagles commenced their streak with a 4-2 victory against St. Agnes to close out August, then opened Minnesota Christian Athletic Association play with a 3-1 besting of Providence Academy on Tuesday, Sept. 7, followed by a 2-1 defeat of Metro United on Thursday, Sept. 9.
However, New Life’s run came to an end on Friday, Sept. 10, in a 2-1 loss to Southwest Christian at the Bielenberg Sports Center to drop the Eagles to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in MCAA play.
James Housworth scored two goals versus Providence and one against Metro United to give him six on the season, with Daniel Sleper logging an assist against both Providence and United.
The Eagles play four games this week. They took on Legacy Christian and Liberty Classical academies on Sept. 13 and 14, respectively, Heritage Christian on Thursday, Sept. 16, and Spectrum/PACT Charter on Saturday, Sept. 18.
