Events for this weekend include two benefit walks, the 26th annual Heritage Days celebration in St. Paul Park, a farm/food fair in Hastings, a reunion, two pancake breakfasts and a spaghetti dinner.
A walk to raise money for the Minnesota chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association is scheduled at the Como Park on Saturday, Aug. 21.
A two-mile fundraising walk to support construction of the Jeff Hanson Miracle Field at Bielenberg Sports Center in Woodbury is planned for Saturday, Aug. 21. The walk, which is geared to all ages, begins at Lake Junior High School, 3133 Pioneer Drive, in Woodbury, and ends at the site of the future Miracle Field.
Heritage Days activities begin with a Glow-n-Bowl tournament at 6 p.m. on Friday at Park Grove Bowl in St. Paul Park, with a free movie at 9 p.m. in Veteran’s Park.
Cooks at the Newport Masonic Lodge 118 in St. Paul Park will be serving an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. just before the Heritage Days parade begins on Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Masonic Center, Broadway and Summit avenues in St. Paul Park.
The Heritage Days parade begins at 11 a.m. from Heritage Park and moves north on Summit Avenue and turns west at Broadway Avenue. Other activities will take place on Broadway all day Saturday and Sunday.
Washington County Parks will feature Warner Nature Center and the Como Zoo in two separate campfire programs, both at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, in county Parks. Programs are free; parking is $5 per vehicle. For details, call (651) 430-8370 or wee www.co.wasington.mn.us/parks.
The Farm, Food and Fun Fair scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the LeDuc Historic Estate, located at 1629 Vermillion St., in Hastings is all about the path that food takes from fields to tables.
The St. Paul Park High School Class of 1960 will meet for its 50th reunion beginning with a social hour at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, at The Point Restaurant, Highway 61 south of Cottage Grove. For details, call Judy at (763) 784-5508.
The American Legion Post 98 Women’s Auxiliary in St. Paul Park is hosting a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, 8/22, at the legion hall, 328 Broadway Ave. All are invited. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to send care packages to troops overseas and support the Friends in Need Food Shelf in St. Paul Park.
The fourth annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Park High School girls soccer team is scheduled from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Cottage Grove VFW Post 8752 Red Barn, 9260 East Point Douglas Road in Cottage Grove.
