East Ridge cheer squads invited to Capitol One BowlBased on their performance at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp, the East Ridge varsity football and the varsity soccer cheer teams were invited to perform at the nationally televised Capitol One Bowl in Orlando Florida on New Year’s Day.
The East Ridge High School cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Camp from June 28 to July 1 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
The varsity football squad and the varsity soccer squad competed separately against squads from multiple states and were both selected as Superior Squads. As Superior Squads, the teams are invited to perform at the nationally televised Capitol One Bowl in Orlando Florida on New Year’s Day.
The varsity football squad was also awarded Camp Champs in the Extreme Routine — a combination of stunt, tumbling and dance — in the large team division.
The varsity soccer squad was awarded second in the Cheer Routine in the small team division.
Individually, Megan Musil and Danielle Mischke were selected as UCA All-Americans. They were judged on jumps, dance and cheer. They both are invited to participate in either the London New Year’s Parade or the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade depending on their age.
