Engagement: Jennifer Linn, Thomas Burr

Jennifer Linn and Thomas Burr are to be married Saturday, July 24,at the home of the bride’s grandparents, Alcuin and Marlene Linn, in Aitkin. Scott Burns, the executive director of the National District Attorneys Association and a friend of the couple, will officiate.

The couple met in 2006 at the National Press Club, and began dating despite a sound beating the bride delivered the groom at billiards and even further despite the couple’s first date: a return to the press club for karaoke.

Jennifer, the daughter of Robert and Mary Linn of Cottage Grove, is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She is production manager at Wampold Strategies, a political consulting firm based in Washington, D.C.

Thomas is the son of James and Ann Burr of Salina, Utah, and a graduate of Southern Utah University. He is the senior Washington correspondent for The Salt Lake Tribune and a member of the Congressional Standing Committee of Correspondents. He is the son of James and Ann Burr of Salina, Utah,
