Golfers raise nearly $5,000 for academic scholarships
After lunch on the patio, 76 golfers set out for the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Classic at the city’s River Oaks Golf Course.
After lunch on the patio, 76 golfers set out for the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Classic at the city’s River Oaks Golf Course. The event raised nearly $5,000 in funds for the chamber’s annual scholarship awards. The 2010 scholarship recipients Samantha Hartfiel, Danielle Olsen and Peter Schrankler along with their parents attended the tournament dinner where prizes were awarded to the first, fifth, ninth, 12th and last place teams.
The winning team was from Cogentrix Energy and included Dan Pulanco, Doug Keys, Jay Moser and Mike Kielsa.
The fifth-place team from Werner Electric included Bill Lee, Bob Ricci, Tim LaFleur and Tony Sollzao.
The ninth-place team from Merchants Bank was comprised of Terry Thompson of Advanced Sportswear; Becky Kirby, Merchants Bank; Mark Sammi, Croixwood Real Estate; and Joe Grochowski, Merchants Bank
Twelfth place was earned by the team from Cottage Grove Auto and Collision, including Bob Pearson, Tim Babbini, Dan Lawrence and Tom Fleury.
