Cottage Grove police and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension vehicles line a cordoned off area Thursday near Hadley Avenue and Belden Boulevard where a man was fatally shot in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday.

A man was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop near Hadley Avenue and Belden Boulevard around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, according to a Cottage Grove Police Department press release.

Another man was transported to Regions Hospital.

The Washington County Special Response Team was involved in the shooting, according to the press release.

The officers involved will be put on paid administrative leave, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident, the press release says.

More information will be released after 11 a.m. Thursday, the press release says.
