Geraldine M. “Gerry” DeMarco (nee Doris), treasured wife, mother, and grandmother, age 79, of Cottage Grove. Our precious, fun-loving Gerry passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on May 30, 2010, after a recent cancer diagnosis.
She was born in St. Paul on June 3, 1930, to Eugene and Margaret (McQuillan) Doris.
Gerry is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Bob; her devoted children, Kathi and husband Andy Buss, Paul and wife Jenny, Patty and husband Merle Schank, Karen and husband David Ackert, and Sue and husband Joe VanderHeyden; grandchildren, Stacy, Hollie, Heather, Bobby, Maggie, Adam, Jenna, Michael, Alyssa, David, Jake, and Linzie; great-grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Ellie, and Nolan. Also survived by brother, Donald Doris; brother-in-law, Dick DeMarco, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and her many loving and supportive friends.
A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park, with visitation from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to mass. Private interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
