A bid for $3.1 million was awarded to replace the heating and cooling system at Newport Elementary School this summer.

Teachers and staff members must remove all of their belongings and teaching materials from the school and put them in trailers.

School Office Coordinator Donna Romaniski and Principal Aaron Krueger will be housed for the summer at Bailey Elementary School in Woodbury.

Money for the project, similar to those already done at Pullman, Pine Hill and Crestview elementary schools, is coming from low-interest federal stimulus bonds.
