A large assortment of annual, vegetables, flats and hanging baskets will be sold from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Community United Church of Christ, 1145 Summit Ave. in St. Paul Park. In addition to flowers, church members will offer a variety of homemade pastries for sale.
Teams for Stone Soup Thrift Shop’s 2nd annual “Stone Soup-er Bowl bowling tournament,”will be accepted even on the day of the event, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Park Grove Bowl, 1020 Hastings Ave. in St. Paul Park. Teams raise pledge funds for the thrift shop, and in exchange will receive free bowling, shoe rental, food, prizes, T-shirt and drinks.
The St. Croix Base Ball Club, which plays by the rules of 1860 and is a program of the Washington County Historical Society, will begin its season in Lake St. Croix Beach at Pettit Park against the Afton Red Socks at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 16. The match is free and everyone is invited to attend.
The 25th annual Apple Blossom Races are scheduled Sunday, May 16, at Carpenter Nature Center in Denmark Township. Races begin at 8 a.m. and will include a 5K run/walk, a 10K, a half marathon and a 2K fun run.
