Cottage Grove is sponsoring a community tree plantingfrom 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 8, at Highlands Park, 6975 Idsen Ave. All are invited.
Guest speaker Eleanor Edman will present “Heritage from the Swedish Trunk,” to the South Washington Heritage Society, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at St. Paul Park City Hall, 600 Portland Ave.
Park High School volleyball players will be selling hanging baskets, potted geraniums and mixed annualsfrom 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 8, at the high school parking lot.
“Llama Magic,” a weekend dedicated to learning everything about llamas and alpacas, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 8 and 9 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo. The event is family friendly; admission is free.
“A Day for Deaken” benefit will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Jersey’s Bar & Grill, located at 6449 Concord Blvd., in Inver Grove Heights. Members of A Touch of Home will be packing care boxes for deployed troopsfrom 8:30 a.m to noon on Saturday, May 8, at Crossroads Church, 5900 Woodbury Drive (County Road 19).
The Washington County Historic Courthouse, in partnership with The North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting and the Washington County Historical Society, announces the grand opening of an exhibit celebrating 100 years of scouting in Minnesota and Washington County. The exhibit grand opening is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, with light refreshments served.
