Wedding: Heather and Kory Mortel

Heather Hanson and Kory Mortel were married on Saturday, July 31, 2009, at the Church of St. Thomas More in St. Paul, with Father Joseph Weiss officiating.

Melissa Hanson served as matron of honor and Breanne Nelson was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Missy Hanson, Sara Soma, Dana Dvorak, Stephanie Briggs and Heather Novalany. Serving as junior bridesmaids were Mikayla Hanson and Kylie Hanson. Abby Hanson was the flower girl.

Mark Abdel and Dave Olson served as best men. Groomsmen were Todd Hanson, Jeff Hanson, John Soma, Jesse Dvorak and Jim Tobritzhofer. Braden Hanson and Cody Dvorak were the ring bearers.

Eric Lauer, Brad Sanders, Bob McDonald, John Shaffner and Alex Hanson were ushers.

Heather, the daughter of Donald Hanson of Cottage Grove, is a behavior intervention specialist in the Next Step Transition Program in the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and is working toward a master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Kory is the son of Charles and Marsha Mortel of Cottage Grove. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and is a financial analyst for Alliance Bank of St. Paul.
