NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE
GENERAL OBLIGATION ALTERNATIVE FACILITIES BONDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Board of Independent School District No. 833 (South Washington County Schools), State of Minnesota (the "District"), adopted a resolution (the "Resolution") on March 18, 2010 stating the intention of the School Board to issue the District's general obligation alternative facilities bonds (the "Bonds") in the total aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $19,565,000 pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 123B.59 and Chapter 475, as amended. The proceeds of these Bonds will be used to finance the following projects included in the District's approved ten-year facilities plan and related financing costs:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Board of Independent School District No. 833 (South Washington County Schools), State of Minnesota (the "District"), adopted a resolution (the "Resolution") on March 18, 2010 stating the intention of the School Board to issue the District's general obligation alternative facilities bonds (the "Bonds") in the total aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $19,565,000 pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 123B.59 and Chapter 475, as amended. The proceeds of these Bonds will be used to finance the following projects included in the District's approved ten-year facilities plan and related financing costs:
-replacement of mechanical systems and deferred maintenance projects at Royal Oaks and Woodbury Elementary Schools, including replacement of fire alarm systems, replacement of fixtures, installation of security doors, replacement of tunnel ventilation and insulation, replacement of water heaters and water softeners, boiler stack modifications, bathroom repairs, replacement of transformers, painting of classrooms and hallways, and HVAC replacement;
-district wide deferred maintenance projects at various District facilities, including heat pump and cooling tower repairs, replacement of water heaters, painting of bus lots, painting of gymnasiums and cafeterias, carpet/tile replacement, replacement of window treatments, replacement of exterior and classroom doors, replacement of heat pumps/chillers compressors, replacement of fire damper motors, replacement of pumps/motors/coil, replacement of gym partition walls, replacement of concrete, repair of underground sprinklers, tuck pointing and project engineering.
The Board has applied to the Commissioner for approval to issue the Bonds and for an allocation to issue the Bonds as qualified school construction bonds within the State of Minnesota limitation amount allowed pursuant to Section 54F(d) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. If the District receives the approval of the Commissioner to issue the Bonds, it will determine whether to issue the Bonds as tax-exempt bonds or, if it receives an allocation from the Commissioner, whether to issue the bonds as qualified school construction bonds.
The total amount of District indebtedness as of March 1, 2010 is $277,095,000. If the proposed Bonds in the principal amount of not to exceed $19,565,000 plus the bonds proposed for improvement to Newport Elementary in the principal amount of not to exceed $4,370,000 were issued, the total indebtedness of the District would be $301,030,000.
