Letter: Shame on you, 3M
“Love thy neighbor.” “If you want to have good neighbors, be a good neighbor.”By: Leslie Schmitt, Cottage Grove, South Washington County Bulletin
“Love thy neighbor.” “If you want to have good neighbors, be a good neighbor.”
Cottage Grove is bursting with good neighbors, people who support each other and help each other. I’ve seen warmth and giving from countless Cottage Grove residents. They give even when they can’t afford to give to help someone in need. It’s a community full of good neighbors — stories that leave me feeling blessed that I live in such a wonderful community.
But what about you, 3M? Are you being a good neighbor? Does your proposal to bring in non-3M hazardous waste to burn in your incinerator benefit your neighborhood? Does it bother you that you will be spewing your contaminants on your neighbors? Do you care about the health of your neighbors? Do you lose sleep over all the garbage you have put the community through the past five years? It would be hard to find a neighbor more arrogant and self-centered.
Shame on you, 3M. It’s time to be a good neighbor.
