Talk about it

Everyone at Newport Elementary School was on wheels recently, at least during gym classes.

Physical education specialists Tania Ferderer and Greg Schmitz had all their classes on square plastic platforms with four wheels attached.

Students in Molly Babbitt’s all-day kindergarten class took their turn Dec. 16.

They sang the “Chicken Dance” and giggled when their scooters moved. They also did “the twist.” While lying with their tummies on the scooters, they did Spiderman imitations and had a very good time while getting a physical workout that would challenge most adults.

One day, physical education set up Scooter Town and kids made their way through an obstacle course on scooters.
