Republican challenger registers to face Sieben

A St. Mary’s Point real estate agent and radio host has filed to run for the Minnesota Senate District 57 seat held by Cottage Grove DFLer Katie Sieben.
Karin Housley filed with the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board Nov. 24 and has announced on her Web site she will challenge the incumbent senator in the 2010 election.
Housley is a small business owner and real estate agent in the St. Croix Valley, a published author and the wife of former National Hockey League star Phil Housley.
Sieben, from Cottage Grove, is completing her first term in the Senate following a pair of two-year terms in the state House of Representatives.
