Cottage Grove police officers recently responded to the following incidents:
A 17-year-old male from Belle Plaine, Minn., allegedly stole a vehicle in Blaine, picked up an 18-year-old friend in Savage, and then came to the Cottage Grove area to use the skateboard park in Hamlet Park Friday, Nov. 6. Officers discovered the stolen vehicle in the parking lot and the suspects started walking away from the car and called the police to report that they were robbed. Officers deduced they were lying from inconsistencies in their statements and evidence inside the vehicle.
A GPS device and change were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8100 block of 76th Street on Saturday, Nov. 7. The complainant stated that they thought the vehicle was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry.
A resident in the 9300 block of Hillside Trail reported Sunday, Nov. 8, that someone used their car without permission and stole a television inside.
A resident in the 8900 block reported Sunday, Nov. 8, that a neighbor brought over several pieces of their mail that were left in the street. The complainant reported that they didn’t know if anything was missing.
