Veterans Day 2009
A poem about Veterans Day 2009.By: Bob Beskar, Cottage Grove,
Veterans Day 2009
Look around America,
At the young and very old,
Who answered the call to arms,
And fought so very bold!
It’s what our veterans did,
When our country went to war,
And that tradition still prevails,
Like it always has before!
Noble warriors still exist,
Across our land so dear,
And when old Uncle Sam needs help,
More of them appear.
They know the cost of freedom,
Which they’re willing to defend,
For without this love of country,
Our way of life would end!
From the early days till now,
“Old Glory” still flies proud,
And veterans aren’t afraid to say,
Their pledge to her out loud!
So on this Veteran’s Day,
Which comes to us each year,
Remember why you’re free,
For the answer’s very clear!
