Vandals who have been doing damage in the Grey Cloud Island Town Hall parking lot and adjacent property owned by Aggregate Industries have stolen “No Trespassing” signs, said Town Clerk Rich Mullen at the September meeting.
Road and warning signs have also been stolen, according to the town board.
Residents are urged to report sightings of vandals to St. Paul Park Police.
Vandals should be aware there is a sharp drop off 50-feet behind the town hall area into Aggregate’s limestone mine. The town board is considering asking the company to put up a fence when the mining permit comes up for renewal next year.
Town Board Chair Dick Adams said it’s difficult for police to catch vandals in the act and that police don’t have time to“camp out” at the town hall.
