Three college roommates in La Crosse, Wis. face fines totaling $26,000 for an underage drinking party they allegedly hosted during the Labor Day weekend.
Police said Lyndon Morris and Dylan Stoffregen, both 20, and Cole Rines, 19, served alcohol to two dozen minors.
Each faces a fine of almost $7,000 for that. And they face penalties of $1,600 each for selling alcohol without a license and fines of $227 to $384 for drinking underage themselves.
All three are due in La Crosse Municipal Court on Sept. 30.
Officers said they were on a foot patrol when they met two 17-year-old girls who were at the $5 drinking party. Police later collected $95 as evidence.
Nine young people were cited for underage drinking, and kids as young as 16 had blood alcohol levels more than twice the legal limit for intoxication.
Police Sgt. Tom Walsh said that’s not safe.
