Cottage Grove resident John Kriesel and his sons, Elijah and Broden, stopped by for brats at the mid-summer fundraiser sponsored by A Touch of Home, a ministry of Crossroads Church that sends care packages to troops serving overseas. Kriesel, a former Army National Guardsman, was grievously wounded while on deployment in Iraq in 2007. According to organizer Linda Lehrke, the three-day fundraiser at Von Hanson’s Meat Market was a success. Donated items for care boxes can be dropped off at the Bulletin office, 7584 80th St. S., in Cottage Grove. For information about care box donations, go to www.atouchofhome.us.
