Russell E. Gausman, 78

Russell Gausman, age 78 of St. Paul Park, died on July 21, 2009, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.

Russell Erving Gausman was born August 18, 1930, in St. Paul the son of Elmer and Aleatha (Wells) Gausman. On February 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jean Berdt in St. Paul.

He is survived by Jean, his wife of 58 years; children Roxanne Burns, David (Sue), Claudia (Scott) Weisskirk, Paul, Matthew (Becca); grandchildren Bradley, Alison, Patrick (Stacy), Meghan, Sean, Michael, Brian, Caroline; great-grandchildren Molly, Kieran; sister Jean Johnson of International Falls; other relatives and friends.

Russ loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. His greatest pleasure was to spend time with his family and friends and favorite dog Trinity.

He was the man his family turned to for help and could be counted on for his honest opinion and great sense of humor. We will miss him very much.

Memorial Service was at 11 a.m. Saturday , July 25 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave, Cottage Grove with gathering time 10 to11 a.m.

Inurnment Cottage Grove Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Cottage Grove United Church of Christ or The Kidney Foundation.
