Since January, the food shelf has assisted more than 9,500 families and doesn’t anticipate a slow down, according to food shelf director Michelle Rageth. By the end of the year, Rageth expects to serve more than 19,000 people and give out nearly 1 million pounds of food.
Paper bags can be dropped at the food shelf on Tuesdays or left in the container at the front door any other day of the week. Donors may also take paper bags to the collection box in the entryway at Cub Foods, in Cottage Grove.
