Afton motorcycle accident victim identified
An Edina man was killed last week in a violent one-vehicle motorcycle accident in Afton.

Charles H. Aschwanden, 61, of Edina, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a report of a motorcycle accident on Hudson Road near Neal Avenue in the city of Afton just after 9 p.m. on April 28.
Upon arrival deputies found a motorcycle had left the roadway and struck a tree.
According to published reports, Aschwanden was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but was decapitated when he struck a tree as his motorcycle left the roadway. Excessive speed was a factor in the accident, officials say.
