The Cottage Grove family of the 24-year-old who was slain last year after responding to an ad on Craigslist.org for a babysitter, said they'll keep their public comments to a minimum as the trial goes on.
Testimony started Monday in the trial of Michael John Anderson, 20, who is accused of killing Katherine Ann Olson in October of 2007.
Since Olson's death, there has been an outpouring of support to her family, her parents Rolf and Nancy Olson said in a statement. The thousands of cards and e-mails have helped "soften the pain of our grief," they said.
"It remains our goal that together we can find peace and conduct ourselves in a manner that would make Katherine proud that we stood up for her," they said in the statement.
Family and friends of Katherine Ann Olson are planning a tribute concert May 3. For more information go to: www.concertforkatherine.com.
