FISH FRY FRIDAY — Cooks at the Cottage Grove VFW Post 8752 Red Barn serve a fish buffet from 4:45 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday through Good Friday, April 10. The buffet includes hand-battered Icelandic cod, meatballs, au gratin and baked potatoes, green beans, baked beans, coleslaw, condiments, coffee and pudding. The cost is $9. The barn is located at 9260 East Point Douglas Road, Cottage Grove.
SUNDAY, MARCH 1
ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT PANCAKES — An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is hosted by the American Legion Post 98 Auxiliary, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Legion Hall, 328 Broadway Ave., St. Paul Park. Tickets are $6.50 for adults; seniors and kids, 11 and younger, pay $6. Children, 3 and younger, eat free. In addition to pancakes and eggs, the ladies serve sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk. Proceeds from the event are divided between care packages for troops overseas and the Auxiliary’s general fund.
TUESDAY, MARCH 3
GARDEN WORKSHOP — “Planting for Clean Water,” a workshop for homeowners who want to integrate native plants into their gardens and help clean our waters, is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, at Carpenter Nature Center, in Denmark Township.
