Woodbury Junior High principal, Dennis Roos will be climbing the ridge to success when he joins the East Ridge High School team as the second assistant principal. Roos will be joining other East Ridge assistant principal Matt Kraft.

“I look at this position as head coach job,” he said. “But I don’t necessarily want to leave Woodbury.”

Roos said his decision to move over to East Ridge came due to the fact that Woodbury will be transforming into a middle school, and he won’t be able to see it through the entire transition since he’s not far off from retirement. He said he wanted to find someone of high quality now so that they could see it through that transition.

Roos said it is a little bittersweet to have to leave Woodbury since he’s been there for the past decade, but he said he is also looking forward to the new high school and the challenges that await.

“There’s always going to challenges and things you don’t expect,” he said. “And that’s one thing that I really like about this job.”
