Applebee’s and general manager Tim Boston, you are amazing! We knew from the moment that you said, “This is now your kitchen!” that we would have a successful Holiday Train fundraiser breakfast.
The Holiday Train Committee hosted an Applebee’s fundraiser breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 22 with all proceeds going to the Friends in Need Food Shelf. Because of our fundraising efforts we were able to donate $2,427 to the food shelf.
Applebee’s provided all of the food and cooks and we provided the volunteers to greet our guests, wait on tables, serve food, wash dishes and sing songs with Santa Claus!
The Cottage Grove Royalty went above and beyond our expectations with selling tickets and serving our guests. Thank you to the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans volunteers, who also sold tickets, waited on tables and donated matching funds. Thank you to Santa Gary for joining us at Applebee’s and engaging the Royalty girls (and Floyd Ott) to sing some Christmas songs with you.
Congratulations to the winners of the Holiday Train ride! Santa Claus pulled two names out of the Thomas the Train box and the winners are … Bob Byerly and John McCool! Bob and John are invited to bring a guest to ride on the Holiday Train from Hastings to Cottage Grove.
A special “thank you” to you who supported the Holiday Train breakfast and helped us, help our “Friends in Need.” Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!
We’ll see you on Friday, Dec. 12 when the Holiday Train rolls into town!
