Letter: Thanks to silent servants

By: Zac Dockter, Cottage Grove,

As both a citizen and employee for the city of Cottage Grove, I often notice residents walking through our parks, trails and open spaces carrying small bags full of trash they’ve picked up along their journeys. I cannot express in words how wonderful it is to see this. Without residents like these serving the community unbeknownst to others, the litter and trash would accumulate to unbearable levels. I applaud the efforts of these folks and believe that this pride in keeping Cottage Grove clean is becoming contagious. Each year I seem to notice more residents contributing toward this cause. So to those who pitch in to keep Cottage Grove clean and beautiful, I thank you and encourage others to consider doing so as well. Every bit of effort helps no matter how small or large!
