Lynsay Leigh Nieman, 25, of Hastings, died peacefully Sunday morning, June 22, 2008, at her home with her family by her side.

Since February 2006, Lynsay has been living with colon cancer. She is now cancer and pain free.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave., Cottage Grove. Visitation from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, MN, and also one hour prior at church.

Lynsay was born Jan. 3, 1983, in Hastings, Minnesota, the daughter of Ken and Kristi (Keene) Nieman. She graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove in 2001, and continued her education at Rasmussen Business and St. Catherine Colleges. Lynsay had been employed with Securian Financial Group since August 2001. Lynsay was a very loving person who enjoyed sports and was a big Twins and Wild fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, was an avid shopper, and loved animals and little kids.
Lynsay is survived by her parents Ken and Kristi (Keene) Nieman of Denmark Township; sister Nikki Nieman (Dale Schmitz II) of Cottage Grove; grandparents Burt (Doris) Nieman of Cottage Grove and Kaye Keene of Hastings; her aunts, uncles and cousins Jennifer Keene, Spencer, Jessop, and Annie of Ellsworth, WI; Kirt and Becky Keene, Dickie, Gretchen, Libby of Prescott, WI; Steve and Sandy Nieman, Ryan and Randy of Ellsworth, Wis.; and godmothers Cindy Anderson and Angie Brown both of Denmark Township. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Tom B. Keene; and her uncle Cub Keene.
