Halloween Spooktacular skate event

Cottage Grove Ice Arena, 8020 80th St., Cottage Grove

• What: Trick or treat Halloween skate party, with fog, strobe lights, music, games, face painting, bingo and crafts all sponsored by the Cottage Grove Parks and Recreation Department

Monster Bash Parade

Zywiec's Haunting Experience

Zywiec's Landscape and Garden Center, 10900 East Point Douglas Road, Cottage Grove

• What: Three haunted houses: Tinkles Playland, the Manor House and Haunted Hayride.; corn maze; low scare matinees; and Big Zombie Hunter Paintball Adventure

• Dates: Through Oct. 31

• Times: Haunting Experience and Big Zombie Hunter Paintball Adventure Ride are open from dusk to 10 p.m weekdays and dusk to 11 p.m. weekends. Low scare matinees are weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The corn maze is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Cost: Haunting Experience is $20, $19 with two canned food items. Kids 5 and younger get in free. Admission is $16 on Cheap Thrill Night Oct. 22 and 29. Big Zombie Hunter Paintball Adventure is $13 online and $15 at gate. Group rates, combination packages and "fast pass" tickets are also available. The low scare matinee is $9 per person. The corn maze is $8 for ages 12 years and over and $6 for under 12 years old.

Halloween Fright Night fundraiser

• What: Fright Night gala and fundraiser sponsored by Friends of Pool 2 on the Mississippi River

• Date: Friday, Oct. 30

• Time: 6 p.m. to midnight

• Cost: $5 donation for food, music, raffles, games; cash prizes for best overall costume, best river-related costume and best ghost story.

Afton Trick or Treat Trail

Afton's Old Village

• What: Children will visit over 15 participating shops, businesses and restaurants to collect free treats in addition to activities such as decorating, Halloween crafts, ghostly games and a "Scream for Ice Cream" contest at Selma's Ice SCREAM Parlour. A new offering this year is "Howl-O-Ween," a dog stop and costume contest at noon at Baglio's of Afton.
