Tom Shannon, co-owner of American Motorsports Bar and Grill in Cottage Grove, is a longtime car enthusiast who has invited other car enthusiasts to gather on Wednesdays for an informal show.

"They usually start to arrive at 4 p.m. -- after work," Shannon said last week. "I call it Hot Rod Hump Day." About 30 cars were on display May 26 in the parking lot in front of American Motorsports Bar, 7240 East Point Douglas Road, near Rainbow Foods.

If you're a classic car lover, Shannon invites you to stop to inspect and visit with owners.

Troy and Kristyn Knutson brought their '23 Ford T-bucket to the gathering for the first time in late May.

"The best part of owning a classic car is just riding around in it, waving and smiling at people," Troy Knutson said. "The T-bucket is something you don't see every day."

Everyone is welcome to the gathering.
