Woman charged with pill theft from Cottage Grove living facility
A Hastings woman is accused of stealing medication from a Cottage Grove care facility.
Anessa D. Frame, 37, was charged with felony theft Jan. 16 in Washington County District Court.
The criminal complaint says that other White Pine Senior Living staff believed Frame had been taking oxycodone pills from a locked cabinet without permission. The staff arranged to have a surveillance camera set up and pointed at the drawer.
When they reviewed recorded footage on Jan. 15, they saw Frame enter the room, grab a key and unlock the cabinet and take something from inside. The staff counted the pills and noted three oxycodone pills missing.
During an interview, Frame admitted she stole the pills and said she was addicted to pain medication. Frame also said it was not the first time she took pills from White Pine for her own use, the complaint says.
Frame faces a theft charge that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and a $20,000 fine. She has a Feb. 12 court appearance.
