LIONS CLUB GARAGE SALE -- The 32nd annual Woodbury Lions Club Garage Sale will open for business all over the city from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9. For details, go to www.woodburylions.org.

SWING BRIDGE MEMORIES -- Speakers Herb Reckinger and John Hunziker will present the history of the "Rock Island Swing Bridge," at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at 600 Portland Ave., in St. Paul Park, to members and guests of the South Washington Heritage Society.
SALAD LUNCHEON -- Members of Queen Esther Chapter 26 of the Order of the Eastern Star are hosting their annual salad luncheon beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the Masonic Center, Broadway and Summit avenues, in St. Paul Park. The theme this year is "Salad Luncheon or Bust: Life is a journey, not a destination." Tickets, available at the door, are $8 per person.

MOTHER'S DAY FLOWERS -- The Park High School girls volleyball team will sell hanging baskets of flowers, potted geraniums and mixed annuals from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 9, at the high school parking lot -- just in time for Mother's Day. All proceeds will help support the team.
PLANTS, CRAFTS -- There will be flowers, crafts and homemade baked goods for sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, May 9, at Community United Church of Christ, 1145 Summit Ave., in St. Paul Park.
GRAND SYMPHONIC WINDS -- The Grand Symphonic Winds will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th St., in Newport. The program is free and open to the public. The group will perform works by two contemporary Chinese composers, a work by Gregory Fritze and Percy Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy. SUNDAY, MAY 10
PARK GRADS TO BE FEATURED -- A special Mother's Day concert by the North Central University Chorale will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, at Light the Way Church, 7000 Jamaica Ave., in Cottage Grove.
The group features former Park High School alumni James Magee, Mitch Panek and Francine Magee. This will be their last concert before their European tour, which begins May 11.
