Weekend planner: Veterans tour to honor war dead Monday

GARDEN LECTURE AT LEDUC -- Chris James, chief farming officer at Fresh Earth Farms in Denmark Township, will be the guest speaker at the first of a series of lectures scheduled at LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, in Hastings. FRIDAY, MAY 22
BIRD BANDING -- Every fourth Friday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., experts at Carpenter Nature Center band songbirds. The next session is scheduled on May 22. It is free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested. For details, call (651) 437-4359. Birdseed or suet donations are requested in lieu of a fee. PARK CLASS OF '94 -- The Park High School Class of 1994 will celebrate its 15th year reunion from 7 p.m. to midnight, on Friday, July 24, at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links, in Cottage Grove. Tickets are $25 per person if purchased in advance or $35 per person at the door. The price includes DJ music, appetizers and beer. Reservations are due by Tuesday, June 30. HONORING WAR DEAD -- Members, spouses, families and friends of veteran's organizations in south Washington County will honor those who died in war during a morning visit at local cemeteries. The tour will begin with breakfast at 7 a.m. Monday, May 25, at American Legion Post 98, 328 Broadway Ave., in St. Paul Park.
TUESDAY, MAY 26
NEWPORT ELEMENTARY BAND, CHOIR CONCERT -- The choir and band from Newport Elementary School will perform at the South Washington Senior Center, in Cottage Grove, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26.
