SENIOR FALL FESTIVAL -- The South Washington Senior Center fall festival with take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 8400 East Point Douglas Road, in Cottage Grove. Activities will include a Granny's Attic, homemade bake sale, quilt raffle and a barbecue sandwich lunch.

SATURDAY, OCT. 17

SOCCER SPAGHETTI BENEFIT -- The U14 Cottage Grove united girls Premier soccer team is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at DeMori's, 10 Avenue and Highway 494 in Oakdale. Tickets are $6.50 per person and will be sold at the door or can be purchased in advance. For details, call Shelly at (651) 458-8454.

AGATE, MINERAL SHOW -- The Minnesota Mineral Club's annual agate and mineral show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the National Guard Armory, 8180 Belden Blvd., in Cottage Grove.

HARVEST MOON LUNCHEON -- A Harvest Mood salad luncheon will be hosted by Rainbow Chapter 276 beginning at noon on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Accacia Lodge, 70th Street and Lamar Avenue in Old Cottage Grove. All are invited to attend. Tickets are $8 per person. Proceeds from the luncheon will go to the chapter's community activities.

SUNDAY, OCT. 18

IRISH TENOR AT ST. THOMAS -- Internationally known Irish tenor Anthony Kearns and accompanist Patrick Healy will perform in concert at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Paul Park at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. Tickets are $25, $50 and $100. The $100 ticket includes dinner and a reception with Kearns at Tinucci's Restaurant in Newport. TURKEY DINNER -- Newport United Methodist Church invites friends for turkey, vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors and kids, 12 and younger; and $4 for kids under 4. The church is located at 1596 11th Ave., at Glen Road and 11th Ave., in Newport.

MONDAY, OCT. 19

Washington County officials invite the public to a celebration marking the opening of the county's Environmental Center Monday, Oct. 19, at 4039 Cottage Grove Drive in Woodbury. An opening ceremony is set for 4 p.m., with an open house at 4:30 p.m. There will be activities for visitors and self-guided tours.
