TRAVELING SOCCER FUNDRAISER -- Members of the Cottage Grove Boys U13C2 traveling soccer team are hosting a fundraiser at Von Hanson's Meats, at 9040 Inwood Ave., in Cottage Grove, Friday through Sunday, April 17 to 19. They will be selling brats, burgers hot dogs, chips and soft drinks, 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. VISIT DAY AT HOPE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY -- Families and students are invited to Visit Day at Hope Christian Academy, Friday, April 17. Visit Day is a time when families can come to the school during a school day, shadow a student, and see what HCA is really all about. Call the office to register, 651-459-6438.

FREE COMMUNITY MEAL -- Members of the congregation at Catholic Church of St. Rita, Cottage Grove, prepare and serve a free community meal at 6 p.m. the third Friday of the month. SATURDAY, APRIL 18

ECFE GARAGE SALE -- District 833's Early Childhood Family Education and School Readiness Advisory Council will host its 13th annual children's garage sale from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Cottage Grove Junior High, 9775 Indian Blvd. Sale items will include children's clothing, sizes 0 to 14, books, baby and children's furniture, toys and baby equipment. Admission is $1; no strollers will be allowed. The sale is a fundraiser for ECFE and School Readiness.

ALL NIGHT PARTY BENEFIT AT CLOVER LEAF

The Park High School all-night senior party committee is hosting a fundraiser at the Cloverleaf Bar and Grill, 2146 Hastings Ave., in Newport from 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Brats, chips and beans will be served for $5. Visitors can take a chance at a meat raffle and prizes.

TACO BUFFET -- The New-Park Lions Club is hosting a taco buffet from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Newport Fire Station, 155 20th St., (head west on Glen Road off Highway 61). Tacos will cost $1.75 each or three for $5. Soda is $1 per can. All proceeds from the event go to community needs.

SHOPPING SHOWCASE -- Cottage Grove-based Team Jessica -- raising money to fight leukemia -- is sponsoring a shopping showcase of local vendors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, 676 Bielenberg Drive, in Woodbury. Products and services will include make up, scrapbooks, cookware, photography, a gold swap, nutritional cleansing, massage, jewelry and candles to Home Romance parties and Girl Necessities.

SUNDAY, APRIL 19

HEALTHY KIDS DAY -- Healthy Kids Day at the Southeast Area YMCA, in Woodbury will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. All activities are free with special organized events from 1 to 3 p.m. including swim assessments, family fitness class samplers, open swim and gym games. The YMCA will also provide healthy tips and recipes for families to use every day, healthy snacks and giveaways throughout the day, according to a press release.

TUESDAY, APRIL 22

SIX GRADERS SERVE AT NORTH POLE -- Sixth-grade students from Newport Elementary School will serve meals at the North Pole Restaurant, at Newport Center, on Hastings Avenue in Newport from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, April 21 and 22. Everyone is invited for the last time this event will be held. A portion of profits from the event will be donated to the school.
