Volunteers sought to plant trees in Cottage Grove, Woodbury
Volunteers are needed to plant trees on Friday, April 25, along the border of Woodbury and Cottage Grove.
The land, known as the South Washington Conservation Corridor, is an environmentally significant area that shelters wildlife and helps to drain stormwater runoff during heavy rains.
The Arbor Day project runs from noon to 4 p.m. It’s organized by Great River Greening, a conservation advocacy group.
Volunteers will meet at Crossroads Church, 5900 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury. The planting site is relatively remote and not easily located by using GPS or Google Maps, so organizers will lead groups from the church parking lot.
