The city of St. Paul Park recently approved the updated version of its Rivers Edge Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR), an action that must occur every five years.
While it remains unchanged, the AUAR is a mitigation plan that is to be followed if development occurs along the Mississippi River.
The Rivers Edge development project includes three scenarios with more than 600 acres of shoreline property being developed. However, since the city first adopted the AUAR in 2004, no development has occurred.
“It’s valid for a five-year period and is a good starting point if development moves in within the next five years,” said City Administrator Kevin Walsh.
