St. Paul Park street utilities fees increase for 2014
St. Paul Park residents should expect a slight bump in their street light utility fees for the coming year as the City Council recently approved a 4.57 percent increase.
Since 2005, the city has charged residents a street light fee which is represented on the quarterly utility bills. The fee reflects actual Xcel Energy costs for street lights.
This year, residents can expect a $1.20 yearly increase over 2013. The increase will begin April 1.
The quarterly light fee will be $6.80 per quarter.
City Administrator Kevin Walsh said the increase matches Xcel Energy’s inflation and helps cover the full anticipated cost of street lights.
