St. Paul Park police reports for May 2: Theft, assault, drinking
Recently reported criminal activity in St. Paul Park:
An Oltman Middle School student reported March 17 that his school-issued iPad device was stolen.
SuperAmerica, 545 Summit Ave., reported a gas drive-off March 23.
A 43-year-old St. Paul Park woman who was suicidal was transported to Regions Hospital March 23 for treatment after she took an unknown number of antidepressant pills.
A 29-year-old St. Paul Park man was arrested March 18 on suspicion of second-degree drunken driving, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop about 3:30 a.m. at Laurel and Pullman avenues.
Police were called about 12:30 a.m. March 20 to the 10000 block of Grey Cloud Island Drive for a reported disturbance. A Cottage Grove man was screaming for help and saying a group of males were trying to assault him. When police arrived, he admitted it was related to a drug deal gone bad. Police later interviewed others involved. The case is inactive pending possible criminal charges, according to the report.
A Cottage Grove boy and a St. Paul Park boy, whose names were not released, were ticketed after police found them in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop March 24 in the 100 block of 13th Avenue.
A St. Paul Park man reported March 18 that someone entered his truck and scratched the windshield of the vehicle in the 1100 block of Fifth Street.
A 50-year-old St. Paul Park woman was ticketed for fifth-degree domestic assault following a physical altercation between a man and woman about 1:30 a.m. March 28 at a home in the 900 block of Main Street.
A Cottage Grove man reported March 28 that suspects broke into East Side Auto Body, 805 Main St., the previous night and stacked seven vehicle rims near the parking lot but never came back for them. The suspects also attempted to break into a vehicle. The victim had video surveillance at the property. The incident is under investigation.
Police helped a St. Paul Park man load his drunk brother into a vehicle shortly before 2 a.m. March 29 in the 300 block of Broadway Avenue, according to a report. The officer was on patrol when he saw a man shoving another man toward a vehicle in order to drive him home. The officer stopped and told the drunk man to do what his brother told him. Bystanders told the officer the drunk man had been trying to tamper with the screening of the smoking area outside Franke’s Bar, 304 Broadway Ave.
