St. Paul Park police reports for March 5: Detox, assault, fleeing, theft
Criminal activity reported in St. Paul Park:
A Cottage Grove woman reported Jan. 31 that a camera was stolen from an apartment in the 1100 block of First Street in St. Paul Park. Loss: $1,000.
A St. Paul Park man reported Jan. 22 that a camera was stolen from his home in the 700 block of Holley Avenue.
A St. Paul Park woman reported Feb. 5 that someone entered her home in the 1300 block of 11th Avenue and stole two flat-screen TVs.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 13 that a school-issued iPad device was stolen from her son’s backpack at Oltman Middle School. No suspects.
Police were called to Franke’s Bar, 304 Broadway Ave., shortly before midnight Jan. 25, for a report of a man trying to start fights with bar patrons. Police found the man, who lives in Grey Cloud Island Township, standing outside the bar. He admitted that he had been kicked out of the bar. The bartender told police she kicked out the man because he came into the bar drunk and had slapped a woman on her buttocks. The man told police he slapped the woman but did not believe it was a crime. He was told not to return to the bar. A friend gave him a ride home.
A St. Paul Park woman was transported to detox following a verbal fight about 1 a.m. Jan. 20 in the hallway of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Fifth Street.
A St. Paul Park man was transported to a Hastings detox facility after police were called at about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 10 to Franke’s Bar, 304 Broadway Ave. The man was sitting on the floor with his back against the bar and telling patrons to get out of his house. He told a responding police officer to get out of his house unless the officer had a search warrant, according to the report. The man refused to take an alcohol breath test, but officers said he was substantially physically and mentally impaired due to alcohol.
A St. Paul Park man was transported to a Hastings detox facility after police were called about 11 p.m. Feb. 22 to Franke’s Bar, 304 Broadway Ave., on a report that a man was unconscious.
Police found a woman screaming and crying outside the SuperAmerica store, 545 Summit Ave., at 3:30 a.m. Jan. 26. The West St. Paul woman said her “baby’s daddy” drove away in his car when they stopped at the store and she went inside, according to the report. She identified him as a Cottage Grove man. She said she did not know where she was or how she would get home. She was allowed to stay in the store and call a taxi for a ride.
Police were called Feb. 7 to Oltman Middle School to take a report of a fight involving two male students. Both students were cited for disorderly conduct.
A 23-year-old St. Paul Park man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and fleeing police on foot following a Feb. 12 incident in the 1100 block of Laurel Avenue. Police were called there on a report of a man who had been prohibited from the property. The man fled when police arrived but was apprehended a short time later.
A 22-year-old St. Paul Park woman was cited for domestic assault after police received a report from another St. Paul Park woman claiming she had been punched in the face by her ex-girlfriend.
Police were called at 1:11 a.m. Feb. 23 to Park Place, 200 Broadway Ave., for a reported assault. A woman allegedly had assaulted a man. The report does not say whether an arrest was made.
A St. Paul Park man reported Feb. 11 that an unknown vehicle struck a pillar on a building at Hidden Harbor, 388 Ninth Ave. No damage estimate was listed.
