The city of St. Paul Park continues to firm up numbers for the 2015-16 budget, and with an increase in Local Government Aid the general expenses have risen.

The general operating revenue for fiscal year 2015 has increased by roughly $75,000, primarily due to a  $45,000 in LGA dollars expected to be awarded to the city. The additional funds allow the city to move around the salaries of Public Works Department employees and allow for transfers to cover increased costs of PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association) rates, and energy and gas rates.

Finance Director Kim Sommerland said last week the reallocation of salaries also increases the funds in the parks and recreation coffers by about $93,000.

The net property tax levy, Sommerland added, remains unchanged at 3.36 percent.
