St. Paul Park approves interim public works supervisor
Longtime St. Paul Park Public Works Supervisor Lee Flandrich is retiring at the end of October, leaving the position vacant.
While Assistant Supervisor Brian Rumpca recently declined the full-time position, he will fill in as the interim while the city conducts a candidate search.
The St. Paul Park City Council approved the interim agreement last week and City Administrator Kevin Walsh said first-round interviews begin this week.
“We hope to get someone in front of the council as early as Oct. 21, depending on if second interviews are needed,” he said.
Flandrich has been the head of the city’s public works department for 18 years and previously worked in the same position in Newport.
