SPP hydrant flushing begins Sept. 18
Fall hydrant flushing begins Thursday, Sept. 18, in St. Paul Park. It will last one week, according to a press release.
Residents are warned to expect discolored water and low pressure. Watch for discolored water before washing clothes, as it could cause staining. To flush discolored water, open all cold-water faucets and allow the water to run for 15 minutes until clear.
Parents are warned to keep children away from work crews and open hydrants.
Flushing helps clear mineral deposits and allows efficient operation of all fire hydrants.
