The St. Paul Park Athletic Association will be holding its fall soccer registration on Thursday, June 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Building in St. Paul Park.

CGAA basketball accepting coaches applications
The Cottage Grove Athletic Association (CGAA) basketball board of directors is accepting applications for boys and girls traveling coaches for the 2009-2010 basketball season. Applications can be obtained on the Cottage Grove basketball Web site www.cgbasketball.org. The application deadline is July 10, 2009. East Ridge basketball camps
East Ridge Raptors basketball camps are fast approaching. Girls and boys summer basketball camp information and registrations can be found on the ERHS, ERAA, and Community Education Web sites. Camps are being offered at all levels Kindergarten through 11th grades. District 833 Community Education offering seventh and eighth grade football
Community Education will continue to offer both seventh- and eighth-grade middle school football opportunities this fall. Community Education allows an opportunity for youth to play for the middle school they attend in an affordable after school program. Games and practices are after school and athletes will play against competition from the areas from Suburban East Conference. The cost is $95 (early bird special) until June 30. East Ridge Soccer Club fall youth soccer league
The East Ridge Soccer Club (ERSC) fall youth soccer league is for under-5 to under-10 divisions for both boys and girls. The philosophy of the league is to provide a sound foundation and introduce basic soccer skills for beginning soccer players. Coaching will be provided by staff from the Minnesota Thunder Academy. East Ridge Soccer Club and Thunder Academy tryouts
The East Ridge Soccer Club (ERSC) and Minnesota Thunder Academy (MTA) are setting up tryouts for ERSC Traveling Soccer Teams for the 2009-10 competitive soccer season. ERSC hopes to field competitive teams in the under-9 through under-17 divisions for both boys and girls. U7 and U8 players may tryout at the U9 level. Register at www.eraamn.com. CGAA basketball final registration date approaching
The Cottage Grove Athletic Association basketball program will host its final registration on at two different possible locations. Players can register for the upcoming 2009-10 basketball season at either the Youth Service Building or at Highlands Park off of 70th Street on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The CGAA has programs for players from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Traveling tryouts begin in September. Fore more information, visit www.cgbasketball.org.
Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Classic
The Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Golf Classic is much more than a fun get-together. The Annual Golf Classic funds the Chamber Scholarship program for three area high school graduates at $500 each. The Annual Golf Classic is Tuesday, June 16 at River Oaks Golf Course with a noon shotgun start.
Fees: Foursome is $400 and individual golfers are $100. Fees include green fees for 18 holes and golf cart; driving range and dinner. Chamber and non-chamber members welcome. There will be hole contests, games, prizes and dinner. Cottage Grove hockey hosting Intro to Hockey sessions
The Cottage Grove Hockey Association is hosting an four Intro to Hockey Sessions for girls interested in picking up the game. All four sessions will take place at Cottage Grove Ice Arena beginning June 21 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Other sessions will be held on June 28 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., July 12 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and July 19 from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
These on-ice sessions allow new girls to try hockey and have fun doing it. It will be open to all girls ages 5- to 11-years old.
New girls do not have to know how to skate or play hockey. During the on-ice sessions, they will be instructed on most of the basic skills. They will apply these skills to some fun on-ice games. Experienced coaches, as well as players from the Park girls varsity hockey team will instruct the girls.
The CGHA will supply equipment if needed, you just come up and give it your best. The cost is on $40.00 for 4 sessions.

ERAA football registration now open
Youth from the local area will fine tune their skills during an exciting football season with the East Ridge Athletic Association Football (ERAAF) program. To participate in the football program, one must live in the East Ridge High School boundary.
The philosophy of the football program is to provide a sound foundation and refine skills for all levels. Teams at each grade level will be formed with an equal distribution of talent.
The ERAAF program will have first and second grade flag football and third through eighth grade tackle football. The football program will run from early August through late October. Player evaluations will happen at the end of July.

Cottage Grove summer softball
The Cottage Grove Recreation Department offers a variety of softball leagues during the summer months at the Lamar Softball Complex in Cottage Grove. Weekday game times are from 6 to 9 p.m. and weekend game times are from 1 to 4 p.m.
All leagues will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment is due at the time of registration. League play will begin the fourth week in April. All players must be at least 16 years old. League fees cover umpires, softballs, ASA tournament berths, league champion plaque and T-shirts and field maintenance.
